Photoshop: Assessing an image

In this first video we’ll assess a Lake District landscape shot to form a plan on how it could be improved in Photoshop, covering four key areas of exposure balance, colour enhancement, refining the composition and adding sharpening.

In the second video Jon reveals how to balance the exposure within a shot, ensuring that the optimum level of detail is revealed across the different tonal ranges in the scene. In this in-depth video, important Photoshop tools such as Selections, Levels and Curves are used to even out the contrast range. Jon also uses the new ‘Select and Mask’ feature, which has replaced the Refine Edge commend in Photoshop CC.
