Resting Peacefully

Near the campsite in Rhandirmwyn we were staying at over the bank holiday we discovered a small cemetry that was no longer being used, I had a little investigate and found some really beautifully carved headstones.

Couldn’t read most of the inscriptions on the grounp of headstones, although the name in one had clearly been cut out and replaced like stone marquetry and was for a David Price
1828 Hugh Price aged 26
A family resting together
The detail on the side of the white headstone was surprising
think this is from 1865, not sure what the plant is on this one
This one was realitvely plain
Shame that this one isn’t readible

Thanks for having a look.

  1. Very good find. Some of those would look good in B&W

  2. Old cemeteries are great – one of my favourite inscriptions in one of mine was โ€œRemember me as you pass by, as you are now so once was Iโ€ ๐Ÿ™‚ Made a few people stop in the tracks on the way into the church!
