Finding the right balance of mood and light in your image is all part of the package that makes your image stand out from the crowd, writes Andrew James. In this Lightroom tutorial I take a raw image and work through the Masking options to bring out its structure and mood. I’m using a Frozen Planet-inspired iceberg photograph taken in the Arctic, but you can use the technique on any appropriate landscape photograph. Remember, the exact settings will always vary from image-to-image, and experimentation is all part of the process to get to the right result.
