We are delighted to be able to offer an eleven-day, photographic adventure to Madagascar in October 2024. This traverses the country west to east using the RN7 highway, a classic route providing access to a variety of landscapes.
Madagascar is unique, astonishing… and yes, at times a little challenging. We’ve planned this trip to be at an easy pace, with shorter, easy walks on good terrain. The route we have chosen makes use of Madagascar’s only highway to ensure travel is as comfortable as possible but don’t expect tarmac all the way. This lovely windy road, passing through highland villages, rice paddies and rainforest-covered hills. Where we pass through villages the road is crowded with people browsing the market stalls and we’ll often stop for herds of zebu crossing the track. All offering us keen photographers a bevy of opportunity!
October is a fantastic time to travel to Madagascar. It’s the end of the cool season so the weather is starting to warm up and wildlife comes out of hibernation, yet the temperature is still pleasant. With wildlife at its most active, this is also the time of year for baby lemurs to be seen.
As a dedicated photography trip, we will be making the most of light and seeking out the most photogenic landscapes and interesting opportunities. We will ensure everyone has the time and space to take their shots, the opportunity to learn from our expert photographic guide, and the chance to have personal workflow and editing sessions.
